Achille Castiglioni and his brothers Livio and Pier Castiglioni are one of the founders of the Italian Design movement. Castiglioni studied architecture at the university of Milan and founded his own design company in 1944, together with his brothers. This company grew to be one of the most famous design companies in Italy, thanks to the unique designs and the clear vision of the Castiglioni brothers. When his brother died in 1968, Achille continued to be a designer, but now for companies such as Flos and Alessi.
The Aoy Floor Light is one of Achille Castiglioni's designs for Flos. This minimal designer lamp provides a diffused light out of a white opaline glass diffuser. The outer body is made of a clear glass cylinder.
