The Taccia table lamp is the result of a successful collaboration between the two brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. The design of this table lamp comes from simplicity and practical aspects. The table lamp consists of three parts that stand on top of each other. No additional fixings are therefore required, making the table lamp very easy to assemble. The base of the lamp has a somewhat industrial look. Some even think it looks like a classical column. The light source is hidden in this cylindrical form to prevent direct view. The ring that gives the chrome base its typical look has been designed for a specific reason. When the lamp was developed in 1962, the light source became extremely hot. The jacket thus served as a handle because otherwise it would be too hot to hold the lamp. In addition, it was also important that the base was sufficiently ventilated. The jacket was made in such a way that a space is created between which enough air can flow to cool.
