Poul Henningsen

Poul Henningsen (1894-1967) was a Danish designer and architect known for his influential work in lighting design. He is considered one of the pioneers of modern Danish design and is renowned for his innovative and functional approach to lighting.

Henningsen's career as a designer started in the early 1920s, and he quickly gained recognition for his revolutionary work in lighting design. He believed that light should not only be functional but also create a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere in a space. This belief led him to develop his iconic PH series of lamps issued by Louis Poulsen, including the PH Artichoke, PH5, and PH Snowball, which are still popular and sought-after designs today.
