Our icon, our masterpiece: Daphine.

Thanks to his ingenuity and innate ability to innovate and his deep knowledge of materials, in the mid-1970s Tommaso Cimini adapted the machines in his workshop to bring Daphine to life. A lamp that has become a timeless Italian design icon, characterised by essential elements such as a thin hinged arm, a small adjustable diffuser and the visible transformer on the base. In the years of its debut, the family tested each lamp made in daily life, so that the light could be experienced and the shape could be examined in ergonomic terms. A verification method that is still used today.
It is with great pleasure that the company has decided to present a Limited Edition version of our iconic lamp to celebrate its 45th anniversary. In 1991 the special 15th Anniversary Edition was launched with a special finish, numbered and sold to Lumina's most loyal customers. The finish, called "Dresden wind", was sandblasted grey with a pleasant touch.

This LED version lamp has the same finish and colour as the 15th anniversary lamp. It is adorned with a laser-engraved aluminium commemorative plaque where the signature of Lumina's founder and Daphine creator, Tommaso Cimini, is engraved together with the Limited Edition number. Lumina has decided to reintroduce the same number of lamps produced (226) as in 1991. Our most important customers, loyal Daphine lovers, were 226.
