Flos Toio LED Floor Light

Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) was the son of a sculptor and, after studying architecture, immersed himself in the study of forms, techniques and new materials. During his long career, he designed not only lighting but also furniture, appliances, home accessories and much more. At first glance, his designs seem assembled from randomly found objects. This certainly reflects his experimental attitude. Yet time and again, he manages to design original and playful design pieces with a practical undertone.

For this floor lamp, the Castiglioni brothers went a bit further. Or rather closer? In their own barn or workshop perhaps? This floor lamp consists of an LED headlight from a car supported by a steel frame resembling a fishing rod. The open transformer has somewhat lost its current function due to technical innovations. Still, we cannot remove it without detracting from the original design. The Toio is a minimalist design that fully shows off its exposed technical parts. The use of an LED car headlight creates a distinct lighting effect that will illuminate your space indirectly. The fine design of the Toio matches any interior and is also adjustable in height.
