Formerly Gavina created furniture already at the side of Achille and Pier Castiglioni and Afra and Tobia Scarpa, who would later also design for FLOS.

The success of FLOS is its ability to combine the targets of the firm with the creative fantasy’s of the designers. They dare to call themselves the (re)discoverers of the artificial light.

The cooperation with Achille and Pier Castiglioni quickly led to incredible icons such as the Arco (1962) and Snoopy (1968), both fixed values within the light world.

Recent collaborations with Philippe Starck, amongst others with the Guns collection, have widened and strengthened the Flos range.

Also Vincent Van Duysen, a belgian architect, has added his name to the impressive archive of Flos. Van Duysen designed a rail-structure, Infra-Structure as a reinterpretation of the typical Bauhaus-style.
