Poul Henningsen aimed for glare-free, direct light where it was most needed and soft shadows, using incandescent bulbs as the light source.
The mathematical approach to lighting taken by Henningsen - using the logarithmic spiral - led to the development of the three-cap system and subsequent product family in 1925-6.
