Hand-blown glass with sound waves
The Gem collection is a series of lights designed by designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba for Forscarini. The Gem lamps are formed out of hand-blown glass and a gold, grey or white base. The pattern on the irregular glass of the lamp shade was created with sound waves. The pattern of the sound waves was made visual and incorporated onto the glass. This irregular pattern creates a beautiful light effect. The collection includes a wall light, pendant lamp, floor light and two table lights.
Designers
The Gem collection was designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba. The Palomba’s founded their own studio Palomba Serafini Associati in 1994. Here, they design object that are in direct contact with the people who chose them. This way and intimate relationship is formed between the object and its owner.
