The Mirror Ball collection

The Mirror Ball is one of the biggest successes for Tom Dixon, even though Dixon calls it his biggest failure. The original design wanted to create a round shape, highly mirrored object that would disappear into its surroundings. The actual result was quite the opposite: a lamp that is highly present in the room. The Mirror Ball collection is made from polycarbonate with a gloss finish, which creates the mirror effect.

Tom Dixon is an autodidact designer. Since he started, back when he turned old metal into radical furniture in the 1980’s, Dixon has reinvented himself time and again. He has worked with Cappellini, was creative the director at Habitat and Artek, he founded Eurolounge and last but not least, he started his own brand ‘Tom Dixon’ in 2002. Tom Dixon designs exentric light objects, accessories and furniture.
